Challenges

Customers didn’t have an online platform to view products, create reference lists, and order products. The customers had to visit branches or call telesales to place orders.

Customers had no visibility of their order status and had to contact the telesales team for updates.

The consumable re-ordering on site was a tedious and time-consuming process for the customers, where they had to pick up items from a branch. And for PlaceMakers, product unavailability raised the risk of losing the customer to other businesses.

How We Did It

Identified the internal processes across multiple departments for mobilization
Prioritized process mobilization to match the business priority
Designed an architecture that communicates with multiple systems, both modern and legacy, without compromising on performance
Implemented CI/CD for the Mobile Application using Azure App Center
Developed Skip-The-Counter (STC) type order that helped reduce traffic at the checkout counter
Used SonarQube for code coverage

Just wanted to say a massive thank you from Thom and I on getting the B2C site delivered. We were feeling pretty nervous coming onto the train from the outside but you guys have made the whole process really easy for us.

Looking forward to tying everything up in a neat bow and moving onto the next product!
