Market Research: We began with extensive research from reputable sources such as Gartner, G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, and the official documentation of each platform. The research focused on gathering detailed insights into the platforms' market share, user satisfaction, and enterprise adoption rates.
Feature Identification: Our team developed a comprehensive list of generic, business, and technical features that are crucial for a CMS platform. These features included scalability, personalization, headless architecture, SaaS integrations, security, content delivery, and compliance requirements.
Platform Selection: From the research, we identified seven prominent CMS platforms – Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Optimizely, Contentful, Strapi, Acquia (Drupal), Sitecore, and Contentstack. These platforms were chosen based on their high market presence, enterprise-level capabilities, and the ability to handle large-scale content operations.
Evaluation Criteria: We defined criteria for evaluating each platform based on factors such as feature richness, user satisfaction, ease of implementation, market segment compatibility, and cost-effectiveness. Points were assigned based on the performance of each platform in these areas, allowing us to rank the platforms systematically.
